Default Nifong admits fault, pleads for mercy

He's resigned. I'm sure disbarment or suspension is next. There's the Nuremberge defense and there's the I'm an idiot defense. He's going with the latter. I don't think either is legally cognizable in this context. It's hard to feel sorry for a guy who, with the awesome power of the state at his fingertips, tried to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear of a case the objective being to put a bunch of youngsters in prison for years and years, all for naked ambition. He's calling himself a traffic accident prosecutor in over his head, thoug he was the DA.

I couldn't agree more. He deserves every lashing he receives.

What a miscarriage of justice.
