I think the current Dem line on this is: "hell, if an idiot from Texas can do it, who can't?"

I can see our naive nation voting him in, but lack of executive experience would be a monumental mistake.

Possibly so, but the idiot from Texas was a governor, so he at least had some semblance of leadership.

I believe JFK was the last Senator to be elected President, yes.
