Default Salt Lake Marathon - Bike Tour

Did any locals to Salt Lake ride in the Salt Lake Marathon Bike Tour?

It's a fun, early morning ride.

I hate the Salt Lake Marathon and hope is goes away. It's just a big headache for anyone who lives outside the boundaries of the route. What is usually a 1.6 mile drive from my house to the little league baseball field is a little over 11 miles now to be able to maneuver all the closed roads.

How difficult can it really be to have police officers at the major intersections to allow traffic when there are no runners in sight? Especially early in the race when the runners are nowhere near those intersections?

I don't know a lot about the sport but I'm guessing they lose their course certification or sanction if they do something like that. For the OKC Memorial Marathon the course is closed the entire day, as well.

Didn't know that. Of course, the Salt Lake Marathon is in financial trouble. Last I heard, the winner from last year's race is still waiting to be paid his prize money.
