Default What are people reading right now?

I'm finishing up several books.

The Hebrew Pharoahs,

Greek Grammar Alpha to Omega, which btw is kicking my butt.

Sidney Poitier's book,

Oxford New Testament and several introductions to New Testament.

Looking for some other challenges out there, guys and gals.

Stephen Prothero's "Religious Literacy: What Every American Needs to Know and Doesn't" is making a big splash even though it isn't out yet. It's written for a mass audience, but Prothero knows his stuff.

I found a link to a story about his book in the D-News

Yesterday I finished:

"Are You My Mother?" x3
"Flap Your Wings!!!"
Sister McBride Choate's usual heartwarming and faith inspiring story in the April "Friend."
"Lady and the Tramp."
and of course "Cinderella" where my 4 year old loves to tell me that mean girls always have big booties.

Perhaps in a decade or two I might have more time, but I still never tire of watching my twins flap like mad as the accompany Mr. and Mrs. Bird trying to instruct Junior how to fly. Priceless days indeed. I'll bet even a jaundiced colloquial equivalent of an anal orofice like Aaron Shaff enjoys those moments with his future socially ruined child.

And you thought my response would include "How to NCMO like a Porn Star....."

I'm re-reading Stephen King's "It"

For lighter reading, I'm taking in "An Actuarial Premium Pricing Model for Nonnormal Insurance and Financial Risks in Incomplete Markets"

Arch, you might like this book written by the Pope and the President of Italy. It's actually a dialogue between the two. Interesting assessment of the spiritual status and future of Europe. Very brief. I'd wager you'd be through it in two hours.

I read Lavell's greatest hits to my kids, and the adventures of Robbie Bosco against the evil Utes. That made them laugh and cry.

It looks like a short book that I'll pick up tonight and read while waiting for some things.

Thanks.

My current list:

Breasley-Murray, George R., 1988, Word Biblical Commentary: John 1-9, Word Books, 69.

Gaebelein, Frank E. (editor), 1981, The Expositor’s bible Commentary: John-Acts, Regency Reference Library.

Nolland, John, 1989, Word Biblical Commentary: Luke 1-9, Word Books.

Guelich, Robert A. Word Biblical Commentary Vol. 34a, Mark 1-8:26, Word Books.

A blog post today reminded me a of a fun book I read a few years ago:

Roger E. Olson's History of Christian Theology: Twenty Centuries of Tradition & Reform.

Pricing model for nonnormal insurance and incomplete markets?

Is this stuff that Lloyd's does? How would you develop a model where the actuarial data set is incomplete? Is it akin to a partial differential equation?

Who prints this book? It actually sounds fascinating to this lay person.
