by a too many folks who don't want to hear an opposing view about anything related to BYU football.

Basically, it just got to the point that I decided it was time to take a time-out from it. Perhaps I'm being hyper-sensitive, but I prefer a place for more reasonable conversation.

BTW, I goofed and have two profiles. Please delete the GarthUte profile, as I don't want to have to have a dual personality.

That is the same way that I feel il Pad. Obviously I don't expect an opposing viewpoint to necessarily be agreed with, but it is not taken to well over there anymore. In the past the rivalry banter was a lot better. It was really gone downhill these past few months and pretty much is driving me away. I still have been posting but I think I about to step away.

Interestingly, however, I've felt the same way about Utefans. I've been on that board as long as or much longer than other Cougar fans and have seen its ebbs and flows. Right now, that board is in serious need of an enema. I guess that's what happens when a team starts winning--and winning big--and the fans crawl out of the woodwork. We desperately need some balance restored to the force.

You're correct, Ohio. utefans.net has been ovedrrun by too many pinheads with myopic points of view. I've had it out with one particular zoot and this particular one is who drove senioritis away.

It would seem that both sides of the rivalry is being diluted by small minds and that's a shame.

so you get a group of guys who have power through the internet and a group of people who will back them regardless what they say as long as its said through blue glasses and bam you get posts that are irrational and have no roots in reality...

the reality of the situation....

3 straight losing seasons....
tighter recruiting requirements....
a new oc who has never called a play....
a group of players who have transferred....
a first time hc who was realistically the 3rd/4th choice....

contrast that against the amazing run the utes have had and you get what you guys have been receiving....

the weirdest thing about the other place is ive always thought the most rational and thought out posts are those by utes and the the more liberal leaning cougars....

There's nothing wrong with immaturity, as that is what keeps me young, but unchecked immaturity is another thing, eh?
