What say you?

How much credit does Pres. Bush deserve for this?

He deserves credit for forcing multi-lateral negotiations. If the results end in a disarmament similar to Libya, then it will deserve tremendous kudos.

hmm....interesting...nothing but the sound of chirping crickets from the Bush bashers.

*note* I'm not a huge GW fan myself.

And like Clinton, we will likely find at some subsequent point that Tatoo once accepted the goodies and continued to build his asenal. Why would he do otherwise based on his experience with us?

Kudos up to the point of delivery. Which is the same as what Mike said. This may not classify as good news, but I am not sure that anything the North Koreans sign is worth the paper it is printed on, as Clinton and the boys find. So, for now, approval. Hopefully a permanent thumbs up down the road.

That was a good one; but did Putin have his fingers crossed when he said that?

John Bolton, NRO and the AEI folks all hate it.

But they all thought democracy would be easy to install in modern-day Babylon, so what the hell do they know?

"It will be interesting to see if this deal lasts any longer than the 2005 agreement; or does as much damage as the 1994 framework. Regardless, we have already been bested. Our failure to follow up on the momentum we acquired in the wake of the North Korean nuclear test was a strategic blunder. We have lost sight of the fact that the only way substantive and permanent change will come to the Korean peninsula is with the end of Kim Jong Il’s regime. Any agreement we reach with Pyongyang only serves to push that date further into the future..."

How do we achieve the end of that regime without a massive humanitarian crisis?
