Default New poll on prez candidates

This is interesting.

Hillary's basically running away with the Democrats but McCain and Giuliani are a statistical tie for the Republicans. (Romney currently in 5th.)

Romney has poor name recognition. But so did Bill Clinton when he started out.

There is absolutely no way Giuliani gets the nomination.

Am I the only one that things running Hillary could be the stupidest thing the Dems could do? Based on the mid-term results, if they ran a true moderate who is not so divisive, you'd think it would be a lock.

If we're still in Iraq in 2008, it's not going to matter who the Democrats run. The only chance the Republicans have in 2008 is to come up with a candidate that is willing to admit that the war was a mistake and who is determined to get us out of Iraq. President Bush and the republican party have been exposed. People forgave Bush's incompetence 4 years ago and reelected him because they thought his heart was in the right place. As the midterm election demonstrated, people are no longer so indulgent. No amount of spin is going to save the republican party next time around.

I don't know, Non Sequitur, did you look at those numbers? If they're accurate (doubtful), the only way the Repubs would lose would be to run Condi.

I think a Red candidate who can distance himself from GW mistakes would still have a legitimate shot, especially if the Blues decide to run a rather liberal candidate.

Most people consider a presidenical election "choosing the less of two evils". Don't assume that Hillary won't be considered the worst of any two, Republican or not.
