Default I will never leave my house again

just got the samsung 42" DLP on Black Friday. Got a great deal. Didn't even have to get up that early.

Man is HD nice. I know I am late to the party, but I find myself choosing to watch the HD over-the-air channels over the satellite non-HD, just because of the picture.

Now if only the MTN were available in HD. I know that is two steps removed. Maybe years before that is a reality, unfortunately.

I talked about getting one for a year. So I had proven it was not a rash decision.

The prices are coming down so far now....The 799 I paid for this is not that much more than the 500 or so I paid for my Sony CRT about six years ago.

If you find a good deal, better get it, and ask for forgivness later.

Better yet, tell her that to pay for it you will get rid of cable/satellite, because of the over-the-air HD channels. And then reup for satellite a couple months later.

The old, "better to ask forgiveness than permission philosophy".

I like it!

At the Ft Sam PX, we almost bought a 61" HDTV by JVC for 1699, tax free with media stand. Chickened out at the last momment.

Yes indeed. Once you watch HD, it is tough to suffer through SD broadcasts. It is wonderful.

Sounds like you got a great deal.

How many channels can you get over the air?

Digital broadcasting is amazing. I was getting most of the locals in HD in my basement with a $20 pair of radio shack rabbit ears.

I got an HDTV before I was married... It was selling for $1,000 in the stores and I got it, plus an HD cable for my xBox for $600. I had a friend who worked at an Ultimate Electronics when they were going out of business and he called me when the display was going on sell. It's great. It's not a Plasma, but it's a nice HD flat screen TV. I also love it.

I own two big screens both HD. I have a 60" Toshiba HD big screen. Then i have a 50" LCD Panasonic HD flat screen in my loft where my pool table and other toys are. Nothing better than HD. Mike if you are an NBA fan wait til the playoffs TNT HD is awesome.

Dang, man. I've got serious TV envy.

I've been thinking about an HD TV for a while now but I haven't been able to pull the trigger. I keep thinking "If prices are continuing to come down, then if I just wait until next year I can get an even better deal".

I'm going to have to buy Mrs. Meanie a new washer/dryer set here in a couple of months. Maybe I can somehow work a new TV into the deal?
