Classic rock that sucks
Given my age, I listen to a lot of classic rock stations. Here are some artists that need to be removed from the rotation:
1) Heart These chicks never really had it. Stop torturing us 2) Electric Light Orchestra ELO music is horrid. I would rather poke a sharp stick in my eye. 3) Paul McCartney This isn't rock. It's pop. Cheesy pop at that. 4) Styx I used to be a Styx fan, but it just sounds odd now. 5) Supertramp See item 4. 6) Rush Hear me out, folks. Rush is a decent band but these stations only play 2-3 songs (Tom Sawyer, Spirit of Radio, Subdivisions) over and over and over again. Argh....

I can like Rush in small doses.

Barrucuda and Magic Man, both those songs rock. Especially for the time. Later Heart is terrible.

I agree with most, but Rush does not belong on this list. Styx is good too. |

I like Rush. I am just sick of those three songs. And for some reason, those are about the only songs that get any rotation.

I agree with you about Styx. All their stuff now sounds like songs from a bad broadway musical and no one can remember what the plot was about. I was in a band that covered every song on a couple of their albums so imagine the hell when not only do you recognize the songs but you know ALL the words AND the music and can still play them. Ouch. Dennis DeYoung get OUT OF MY HEAD! You're right, sadly, about McCartney. But when you're that rich who's going to tell you that your stuff sucks? ELO? I think you're right but I like them anyway. Jeff Lynne wrote some great pop melodies and I can't help myslef but I like them. It's sort of like ABBA on the radio. You SAY "I don't like it" but you tap your feet anyway. Heart? Come on man, Anne Wilson was HOT back in the day and she had an AWESOME set of, umm, pipes. Since then, she and I have both discovered the Krispy Kreme advantage, so I can empathize. Early Heart, yes. LAter Heart? No, and what's with all those goofy high kicks that Nancy Wilson does in the videos in the later years? Finally, can I just say that Rocky scares me becasue he somehow not only thinks about Janis Joplin and 3 pooch night at the same time but he puts them in the same category! ROcky, old friend, I think you may need a visit to Kamchatka for some music appreciation re-education. Janis is the very essence of classic blues rock; listening to her whiskey besotted wails of emoiton is almost like breaking the WOW. 3 Bow-wow night, well, let's just say I hope they made a lot of money and it didn't all go up their cute little noses, beacseu their music scuked (except for a couple of Hoyt Axton penned songs).
