Default Diagnosis?

I have been riding less lately and turning my energy to running (my winter activity). I have been experiencing quite a bit of pain in my left heel/achilles area. It especially hurt when I was running around the yard with my kids the other day.
Any ideas what it might be and how I should fix it.
By the way, I have never had an injury there. And I am very brand loyal with my shoes. I alsways go with the Addidas supernova. I have logged hundreds of miles in that model and have never had a problem.

Have you been running track?

I run around a track once a week and notice that running counter clockwise I suffer from the same condition.

I don't run on a track. But i do run the same route all the time which keeps me on the side of the road against traffic for the majority of the miles. Is that constant slope part of the problem?

Could be. My wife had problems because she always ran on the right shoulder.

Could also just be an overuse issue. I had what I diagnosed as Achilles tendonitis. It would burn and hurt as I was getting going but after a while, mile or so, it would numb out and I'd be ok. Maybe a heel lift is what you need or new inserts for your shoes.

I assume you are stretching it well after you work out?
