Honor Code:
I don't like its application, and I don't like that administration has taken a post WWII attempt to control wayward soldiers into an article of faith. BYU's honor code is ludicrous.
Yet some will defend it as something coming down from Moses and Mt. Sinai. IMHO, for all students, it should be enforced by having ecclesiastical endorsement reviewed by clergy and letting the Honor Code govern academic honesty, save crimes which harm the university. Public dissemination of one's private actions are medieval. Let's hang our kind publicly now. Now if BYU lets Unga reapply for fall, then it will be a step in the right direction. My guess is it's a long bet before administration allows that to happen but it would be the right decision.

The Church is much more tolerant than those guiding the university in Utah County. Something's afoot there in the water.

How backward are the releases regarding Unga and Moeaki?
You release them simultaneously to publicly declare what occurred. BYU is so backward at times.
