Default Are you better off after 8 years of a GOP president?

Quote:
America's middle class is increasingly squeezed by sagging incomes and soaring expenses, experts told Congress on Wednesday.

Adjusted for inflation, median household income dropped by $1,175 between 2000 and 2007, said Elizabeth Warren, professor at Harvard Law School, in written testimony before the Joint Economic Committee.

At the same time, the average family is spending $4,655 more on basic expenses, such as gas, housing, food and health insurance. Gas alone costs $2,195 more for a family making the same commute in May 2008 as it did eight years earlier.

Personally? I'm making 120% more than I did in 2000. If I take into account benefits, I'm making 130% more.

I'm not going to credit my good fortune to the GOP president.

People in my job were making the same amount 8 years ago, approximately.

Wages have decreased via inflation.

My success does not depend on who is in office. But if you're asking if I'm better off than I was in 2000 the answer is HELL YES.

In 2000 I had no children. Now I have 3.

George W Bush has made me fertile!

You've said you have teenage children.

This, my friend, would be false. When did I claim to have teenage children?

Maybe I'm mistaken, but I don't think the thread title claimed cause and effect.

Yes it did, by very strong implication.
