Default Riley Nelson

For you recruiting guys, is this a big get? It seemed like he played pretty well as a frosh at USU. How come he didn't come here in the first place?

What did I miss? Was there an announcement?

His dad said he's coming to BYU after his mission in Spain.

The comments to that article are hilarious.

Riley had a terrific career at Logan HS. The knock on him was his size. I have no idea how strongly BYU pursued him.

I don't think they really recruited him at all. They had their guys targeted and Nelson wasn't on the list. The kid is a real winner, though, and BYU sees that. Should be good for competition. It makes Ute fans mad, so that's always a plus.

I don't like missionaries transferring IF...

1. The school has demonstrated a willingness to support those that wish to serve missions without losing their scholarship.

2. The school hasn't lost the head coach that was there when the player left on their mission

3. The school isn't on probation.

If the above three conditions are met, I don't think it's fair of the missionary to turn their back on the school that was willing to accomodate their mission service.
