Help with creating a ringtone
I was wanting to take a song one of my songs on itunes and make part of it into a ringtone (opening guitar solo on Dire Straits "Money for Nothing." Ooes anybody know how to take part of a song and put it on your cell phone as a ringtone?

Try http://www.mobile17.com. It's pretty self-explanatory. It'll walk you through set-up, getting the specs on your particular phone, and then you can upload a portion of a song to create a ringtone.
After about an hour, it'll send it to you a text as a music file. On most phones, open the text and then open the menu and there will be an option to "save as ringtone." It's free and relatively easy. |

If you have internet access on your phone check out: www.tuneusin.com
They have a ton of ringtones there for free that you can download. Good ones too. The site Mrs. Funk is good though too. I use a free program called Wavepad to edit mp3's and then sync my phone to my laptop via bluetooth and transfer the files to my phone to create my own ringtones.

I haven't had a chance to try it yet. I will when I get off of work.

www.phonezoo.com is easier than mobile17.com , i used to be a big fan of mobile17.com but you can't preview your tone like you can on phonezoo.com . Phonezoo is also pretty instant, where as mobile17 takes a few hours unless you pay.

I can't get the upload to start. I have dial-up and it keeps saying that there is a connection/server problem. Still thanks though.
