Springsteen Tickets - What are they Worth?
I have been offered the "opportunity" to purchase two tickets to the November 12 Springsteen concert at the Verizon Center. $400 for two seats on the third row of the VIP club level and I am told they are a bargain.
Never been to a Springsteen concert and not a huge fan, but I am told his shows with the E Street Band are a once in a lifetime opportunity. Anyone here been to one of his concerts and have some advice? |

20 years ago I would have done that, but not now.
I'm sure it's still a great show as far as the music is concerned, but Springsteen has now started to use his concerts as a forum to spout off about his political beliefs. When I pay money to see a concert, I only want to hear the music, no matter what side of the political isle the musician is on.

He believes in civil liberties. So I actually applaud his views.

I'm a huge Springsteen fan and have only seen him in concert once. I scalped a ticket in London and paid $100 to sit in the nosebleeds (of course, london is pricier than the states) in 1999 - and even then it was a counterfeit ticket (I expressed outrage and the usher escorted me to a better seat; go figure). Back then, everyone was thinking that it was the last fling with e-street, but I guess not. So, it wasn't really a "once in a lifetime opportunity" but I've since decided it was "once in a lifetime" for me, unless I win the lottery or something. Springsteen is unbelievable. Plus, he writes his own songs. but $400 is a lot of cash for entertainment (let alone $800 for two tickets). If the cash isn't an issue and your only hangup is that you're not a fan, that can be easily remedied.

$400 for two tickets. Thanks for the insight from Solon and yourself. Life is short, I will give it a shot.

I read over the weekend that Hannah Montana is outselling Bruce Springsteen in concert ticket sales. That is sick and wrong.
