Best Movie Soundtrack/Title Theme Music
I think some of the best music comes from soundtracks off of movie releases.
I was trying to compile a list of some of my favorites, and it is hard to beat the Mission Impossible (MI-2) Theme...got to be one of my favorites. Any others?

I love the title theme to Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story.
The Field of Dreams title theme. Forrest Gump. Last of the Mohicans theme which I believe is featured in that sweet new commercial featuring Lights Out Merriman and Stephen Jackson.

The soundtrack to Repo Man was fantastic. I still listen to it regularly.

The Godfather
My Fair Lady The Wizard of Oz Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon O Brother, Where Art Thou? Chinatown Pretty in Pink (pure 80s at its best) I have a soft spot for the soundtracks for The Spy Who Loved Me, For Your Eyes Only, and Octopussy ( I know, I know, but I like them anyway). There's tons of stuff from the 30s and 40s that I like. Hitchcock had some great soundtracks too.

The best movie soundtrack is Superfly by Curtis Mayfield and second place is probably not even close.

There seem to be two very different types of soundtracks being compared here. O Brother is a great soundtrack, but is comprised of separate songs, some of which were not composed only for the movie. Amadeus is an OUTSTANDING soundtrack but none of the music was composed solely for the movie. This should perhaps be in a different category from something like sound of music or wizard of oz.
My personal choices include Amadeus, Immortal Beloved (seeing a trend?), Patton and the Battle of Britain.

Good topic.
That's a tough call. Here are some I can think of that stick out in my mind: Oh Brother Where Art Thou? (obviously) The Departed The Platoon (haunting - the soundtrack was perfectly matched to the movie, IMO)
