Where did I say it's against my principles to accept it? I said I don't think the rebates are a good idea, meaning I don't think they will have much effect on the economy. I know you love to distort people's viewpoints, but come on...

This so-called stimulus package is probably the dumbest move I've seen politicians make. It's the perfect example of big governement run amok.

If the purpose is economic stimulus, then the money needs to actually stimulate the economy. If you want to stimulate the economy, money needs to go to the poor, since they have to spend it. If you give it to the middle class, it is likely to find its way into savings or debt reduction.

Wife does not work. I know 150k seems like alot of money but the result of living in SoCal and owning a home makes me feel right smack dab in the middle class.

True, I will use it more wisely than the government - they're idiots. If they want to refund me some of my taxes paid, that's their problem, I shouldn't feel guilty about it. Thanks Mike, I feel better already!
