There are places to find free audiobooks too. If you look in the right places. and by this I mean legally. I could try and find some of the links I had in the past if wanted.

yeah, same here, but just not if all of the green is corn stalks. I love driving through missouri for that reason.

It doesn't have a tape deck either. An AM/FM dial and that's it.

Also the guy who mostly drives it, told me that if you start to reach 80 MPH that it starts shaking. It has 123,000 miles on it and it's a crappy Chevy Cobalt or Cavalier...something like that.

I'm thinking I'm gonna tell the bossman no.

I've done the trip 8 or so times now. Nebraska is boring. Wyoming is double boring. Laramie is an abosolute pit. Iowa is not too bad though.

If I do make the trip I'll probably break it down like this:

Friday: go from SLC to Cheyenne

Sat: Cheyenne to Des Moines

Sun: Des Moines to Chicago

Then that Tues and Wed I have meetings all day in Chicago and fly home Wed night.

That's kind of weak.

Try this:

Friday: SLC to Lincoln

Sat: Lincoln to Chicago

Personally I would try to get it done in two days, then you could have an extra day in Chicago. Boring, boring drive. It takes 8 hrs just to get across Nebraska. Too bad its a Chevy Cadaver. Is there some sort of AAA break-down coverage for this trip? It would suck to be stuck in Ogallala, Nebraska for two days while the transmission is repaired or something.

I've driven all over this great land of ours and there is but one truly boring, boring drive. That is the drive from SLC through America's Afghanistan (Nevada) and then into Oregon or California. The ugliest, most boring godforsaken trip one can make in this nation. At least Nebraska is green.
