Heck, why not take over the entire area of biblical Isreal? And let's stop being squeamish. Just kill all the men, women, and children just like in the old testament.
What is supposed to happen will happen...and you can piss and moan about it all you want.

Stick it must be a young man, as it is easier to be heartless, whilest one has seen no suffering.

And because the Old Testament was recorded at a time when the covenant people did not have the full covenant, I wonder if the scribes were more "heartless" because they had less insight, thus we see a crueler God, because their senses were more dulled. If you read the Prophets, they are not as harsh as the Torah and other parts of the Talmud.

Do you?

By the way, should we expect Israel to turn the other cheek? They haven't received that admonishment yet.

It kind of sounds like you are saying no matter what Israel does, you support it because it is righteousness. Couldn't it be true that what Israel is now doing isn't fulfilling any prophecy but that the prophesy will be fulfilled later on?

Seems dangerous to simply assume they are fulfilling prophesy right now.

I'm not saying that no matter what Israel does, I support it because it is righteousness. I will say that the preservation of Israel as a nation is a righteous cause.

Disabling Hezbollah and Hamas militarily is a righteous cause. It will help preserve the lives of Israeli citizens and preserve Israel as a nation. That, in my eyes, is fulfillment of prophecy.

Default I concur with Parrot and Stick

Who is to say what is and is not fulfillment of prophecy. Hindsight is 20-20 and 'after' the fact that something has transpired...it is easy to say it was fulfillment of prophecy.

'During' the time of fulfillment of a prophecy is surely hard to read and recognize...who is to say it is not.

However, God will have His people. They will not be destroyed as there would be no 'people' for Christ to return too...so, in that very light, Israel must be preserved for Christ to come again. If nations war against Israel at the moment...Israel will have power granted to defend itself and preserve itself as a nation, right, wrong or indifferent.

Most regrettably, there are some very trying times ahead for Israel, as well as the surrounding countries..and the world for that matter. It will get worse before it gets better.
