I've read multiple talks where the prophet and other general authorities have recommended using "thee" and "thou". But I didn't take their word for it, I prayed for a spiritual confirmation of the truthfulness of this council.
That said, I used "thee" and "thou" in my prayer seeking spiritual confirmation. |

So what sort of arcane language do non-English Mormons use to make their prayers more respectful?
Can you point me to a single source where this is recommended? If it is not recommended, why would this only be the case for English? Call a spade a spade. It's tradition. It's our culture. It has nothing to do with what God wants. |

When I want to feel close to my Heavenly Father, I try to be as respectful as possible. instead of saying "father" I say "almighty Father of Heaven and Earth, Lord of all creation, King of Man and Beast".
It's more respectful. |

This thread is hilarious. Mike constantly harps on how we need to follow the Holy Ghost when we want to know God's will, yet refuses to say if he is or not on this issue.

Maybe it's a case of "if the prophets say something that sounds evil or nonsense or simply inconvenient" then rely on the Holy Ghost, except in cases where there is a reasonable expectation that you know you're in the wrong and don't necessarily want the Holy Ghost to rub it in.
