Default powerpoint

btw, thanks all for the wine recomendations. I have a nice merlot on it's way to his home.

In powerpoint, you can put notes in your slides. Is there a way to have the notes show up on your laptop, and the slides to the projector?

Sort of (if you have the right hardware):

Using Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003 and Microsoft Windows 2000 with Service Pack 3 (or later) or Microsoft Windows XP, you can run your presentation from one monitor and let the audience view it on another monitor. This allows you to keep other programs running that the audience won't see, plus you have access to presenter view, which offers a variety of tools for making it easier to present.
The problem with this solution is that it's dependent upon whether or not your laptop can treat the VGA output as a second monitor. Most laptops don't treat the VGA output as a second monitor. You generally only get the following options:

- display to both laptop screen and VGA output
- display to only laptop screen
- display to only VGA output

Some laptops include DVI output that can act as a second monitor but most projectors don't have a DVI connection so you would need to get a DVI->VGA adapter.
