Christmas Movies
I have decided that to effectively determine when an actor's career is no longer relevant you need look no further than to see if they are in a Christmas movie. There are few exceptions to this. James Stewart for example.

I think the same thing is true of singers. When you're no longer capable of producing an actual hit record, release the Christmas album, or two or three.
There may be exceptions...I'm not sure. |

Chevy Chase - Christmas Vacation Bill Murray - Scrooged Of course, Jimmy Stewart's Christmas movie was a serious movie, rather than a fun way to laugh your guts out for 90+ minutes. If that's the case, then Chase and Murray don't really count as exceptions.

Jimmy Stewart's wife in It's a Wonderful Life was a librarian. I just wanted to point that out.
Sometimes I wonder if Bert and Ernie on Sesame Street were named for Bert and Ernie the cops in It's a Wonderful Life. But then I figure I'm just kind of dorky for wondering such things. |
