Just heard from my parents who have been trying to reach family there all day that my grandpa was able to call out and that everyone in my family is accounted for and well. I am very grateful.

Everyone on my father's side is on the Big Island. My old man is the only one to leave.

Apparently my grandfather was on the golf course at Waikaloa when the quake hit.

Glad everyone in your family is ok. My brother and his wife live on Oahu. He said they were without power for 14 hours and were asked not to drive because no traffic lights were working. But no damage or injuries on Oahu.

Good to hear that that all who have family there are fine.

My question would be if Surfah's grandpa let a little thing like an earthquake stop him from finishing his round of golf and if not, did he get a ruling about the quake affecting his lie. It could be considered a natural obstruction and he could get a drop with no penalty occurred.

As for Steel's brother, did they ask the denizens to not drive because, just like it is here in Utah, nobody knows what to do at a 4 way stop?
