Las Vegas Bowl comments on Utah's departure from MWC

Kunzer-Murphy [executive director of Las Vegas Bowl] brought up an issue that few have discussed. Namely, she wondered if any political figures in Utah were upset about the BYU-Utah split.
“I am kind of shocked that the state [of Utah] let this happen, to tell you the truth. I just didn’t think they would let one [Utah] go without the other [BYU]. I am shocked at that part of this deal, but we wish them well,” she said. “Still, I just can’t even imagine what BYU is thinking about this. I wanted to text [BYU athletic director] Tom Holmoe, because I am just sure they are sick about this, my friends there at BYU, the Cougs.”
