My guess that the TCU/BYU game and Utah/TCU games are scheduled on Thursday so the game can be televised on VS. so there is more national exposure. The mtn. is not available across the country as VS. is.

More people will tune into ESPN on a Thurs. night, but far more can see a MWC game with VS. as an option for a game to watch.

The game doesn't have to be on Versus, but even if it is, they could put the game on Versus on a Saturday. They could also put it on CBS (like the BYU-AFA game will be). It is one of the 3 biggest games of the conference year (TCU-BYU, Utah-TCU, BYU-Utah).

Vs. shows a game from a bigger conference on Saturdays. They don't want the MWC on that day. When you are a red headed step child of a conf you take the time slot the TV network gives you, or you start your own channel and don't have any national coverage for 2 years.

This Saturday on Versus, they are showing Dartmouth at Columbia, followed by a half hour of "Sports Soup," followed by bull riding.
