This is where I am, taught YM for 5 years, meaning I went through 2 of the manuals twice and one of them once, I didn't teach directly from the book all of the team, but I always read the lesson, and I just don't recall reading this quote.

I suspect you live in Utah County or somewhere like Dallas, Texas. That kind of nonsense would not be uttered in my (suburban) Los Angeles ward. It just wouldn't happen.

The Church is only "white" in certain parts of the USA. I think a lot of "Mo's" are going to have a hard time coming to terms with that.

If you want to get attention, you might consider sending a letter about the incident to your area president, with a copy to your stake president and bishop. That sort of teaching is frowned upon at the higher levels. Your local guys are more likely to think of you as simply a malcontent.

The YM president is formerly in the Stake Presidency.

And yes, I am a malcontent. I just happen to be right most of the time.
