Default BYU stays at #15 in Coaches' poll

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/rankin...ype=2&pollId=2

East Carolina is #20, Utah #22, and UCLA #27. So BYU "takes the BCS lead" as ute4ever said about East Carolina in the AP poll in another post.

You have a fair point: East Carolina leads in one poll, while BYU leads in the other. But that is only part of the BCS formula, and the BCS Guru who tracks the computer data et al has the Pirates in the lead.

My biggest fear is that BYU will get too much respect. If they go to a BCS bowl, I hope they get the crappy one like Utah did. A game against a team they should beat. The ACC looks like they could provide a team that has no business in a BCS bowl (like when the Utes played Pitt). I don't want them to play a team like Florida or Oklahoma and get worked. We have a legitimate Top 10 offense and about a #50 defense. I wouldn't mind playing the Big 10 champion, especially if its Ohio State. I think BYU would beat them 10-14 points at home, 7-10 points on a neutral site, and 3 points in the Horseshoe.

Based on BYU's performances against "BCS teams" since 2006 including yesterday, I completely agree. The Cougs would easily manhandle Ohio State.

After watching the AP drop BYU 3 spots while being passed by a C-USA team, this is understandable.

But you said he has the Pirates in the lead. You must have found that guy on Google after I pointed out that BYU is the highest non-BCS school ranked in the Coaches' poll.
