I do not agree that AQ in Iraq is AQ, by any strict definition.

If you define AQ as "anyone or anything that calls itself AQ" then yes, AQII is AQ.

I don't know if it's a franchise or a subsidiary or just a license. But clearly the Iraq group is trading on the brand name without objection from the founders of Pakistan/Afghanistan/Egypt AQ ("Old AQ"). Indeed, Zawahiri is in the DNA of Iraq AQ. Liberals who simply dismiss them as unrelated in conclusory fashion are clearly predisposed and just being circular. This is the fallacy of your anti-Israel position. You ignore that Hezbollah, Hamas, Old AQ and AQ in Iraq are all part of a monolithic web.

Oh no, not an atheistic anti-Mormon Zionist. The smell is repugnant.

GOPers, why is he wrong?
Aren't Afghanistan operations being run by ISAF (NATO)? If we have any problems with what's going on there, shouldn't it be directed at Brussels?

Afghanistan is of no geostrategic importance. In democratizing Iraq you break the hostile Iran-Iraq-Syria chain and create a friendly Turkey-Iraq-Saudi Arabia chain
