True.

It was a great experience. I've never regretted accepting a call to serve a mission in Italy.

It doesn't look familiar at all. It must have come out after I did my time (I returned home in March '85.)

It was almost brand new when I went out in August of 90 ... so yes, you're too old for it. In fact, you probably had the discussions I was taught as I was baptized in 84.

I was just going to say that. Some of the best comedy on the mission were the MG tapes ... and the driving / car videos you got to watch at zone conference.

Somewhat related.

Mpfunk and I teach CTR 6, and the sharing time lesson was on missionary work, and most of what the sister teaching the lesson said was pretty benign. However, at one point she asked the kids to raise their hands if they could think of somebody who wasn't a member of the church or somebody who was less active ("that means somebody who doesn't come to church very much," she said). One of our little boys who maybe come every two months quietly said, "Well, I don't come to church very much" and was totally sad.

I didn't know what to say. I just think people need to be sooo careful about what they say regarding "less active" or "inactive" people, especially with little kids.

So they don't use "The Uniform System for Teaching Families" anymore? Eight wonderful lessons that I could recite word for word to Mr. Brown and his family. After three overwhelming days in the SLC mission home and those lessons I was ready to convert half of Canada.
