Default Only one Utah school

with a representative left in the NBA playoffs. San Antonio's Ime Udoka is a former College of Eastern Utah Golden Eagle. This past season CEU had two players in the NBA, Eddie Gill and Udoka. BYU had zero.

Price can finally run some smack at SLC. Good for you.

He played on a CEU team with Eddie Gill and Harold Arceneaux. It was a terrific team to watch and they were nationally ranked.

Finally? I believe the Dinos of Carbon High took state in 1938 and 1951, leaving schools like East and West in the dust.

The '51 team is a story of legends. A team made up of Greek and Italian immigrants, some of whom worked in the coal mines, joining with the Mormons. The coach had to go to a few homes to convince the parents to let the kids play, using the kids as translators. On the way to the state championship game the bus stopped by the mine to pick up some players. The team arrived at Derk's field for the game to face West, who had a vaunted squad. At a key moment in the game the star running back from West was running on a sweep when a Dino defender took him out right at the pitching mound. Hollywood couldn't have scripted it any better.

That is the first I've heard of that and it's a great story.

The one thing I've always liked about Price is the diversity of cultures brought together by the mines. It really is a great small city.
