Did Beck not have "it" in 2005 even though his numbers were at their best in close games during the 4th quarter and overtime? Maybe the defense didn't have "it", since BYU lost 3 games by 7 points or less after giving up 42 ppg in those games.

Is there a logical basis to actually expect BYU to challenge for BCS conference titles if we were to be invited? Our record versus BCS teams sucks, regardless of the LaVell/Crowton/Bronco era.

Was the priesthood ban simply due to racism? Do we know the mind of God? What do we make of similar historical precedents?

And so forth.


It's not being a corporate guy, it's challenging conventional wisdom.

I was with you for a long part of the trip. Crowton may have not been a good coach, but a lot of messed up things help to make him worse than he really was. Such an enlightened person as Bronco even thought he got a screw job.

I have come to the conclusion eventually he would have been gone. Since I am one who believes God is active in the affairs of BYU for their good, I believe he set up and caused the scandals so Crowton could be gotten rid of in a hurry. God didn't mind an early pay out but he realized the tight folks in charge would care. He gave them something they care about more than money. THE IMAGE!!

It was the 2005 SDSU game. You were giddy in telling the world that Bronco was not the panacea many believed.
