Who is the "the farm"?

It was sarcasm, but thanks. Cal is the correct answer. He was also on Stanford's staff earlier, as well.

Stanford's issue? They don't want to have two more schools come into the conference and make Stanford #12 in football every year. In addition, I think the addition of Utah and BYU would make Stanford's failure to upgrade facilities more reprehensible.

Stanford did upgrade their football stuff. It is really nice now.

It used to piece a piece of fecal matter in a forest. Seriously, high schools had better stadiums.

Cal's current stadium is no plum, either, but nowhere near as awful as Stanford.

What BS. That's not Stanford's issue. Stanford has more money than all the other 11 schools you're talking about put together. Along with maybe Cal, Stanford is the school that would most object to BYU on the subjective groudns I've been identifying.

You are half right. Stanford did object. Cal did not. Neither did the other 8 research meccas.

Dont know why Stanford said no, but your reasons seem logical enough to be the right ones.

If the Pac is forced to expand to 12 members, what are your thoughts on CalTech? They have solid research there. Football sucks, but hey, it is all about the quarks, right?

What is your FIL? I don't believe this vote even took place.

I hope no one is confusing SU's views with the Pac 10 viewpoint I've been honestly expressing here. I've been very clear I'm the messenger here. But some comments in other threads about me hating BYU make me wonder if people appreciate this.
