Ugh...I so wanted to say something, but didn't.
There would undoubtedly be fewer that fit that description. What's the problem?

The impression I glean is the notion amongst some religious and nonreligious folk that "depression" is all mental and not organic. From Rocky's choice of words, she may be accurate in stating some cases of clinical depression are from making wrongful choices. He possibly gathered she was making an anti-clinical diagnosis speech.

Are any of the mullahs going to come up with a substantive rebuttal to the rebuttal?

These women (and men) speaking up is a great idea. I'm not saying you have to agree with them, but considering their points and taking them seriously strikes me as a good idea.

Punishing people for disagreement, making them the problem, and shutting them down in the name of obedience, looks alot like groupthink (albeit in a larger context than Janis' work is typically applied).

you gotta be kidding me. You consider signing a petition an act of valor?

Which is why the church declined comment.

I would have said, so I take it you endorse Satans plan. We would have all been happy.

In this instance, I hope no disciplinary action is taken against signers of the petition. All concerned would be better off if it is allowed to be spoken and then to die off. If those with differing views are allowed to vent, then it won't remain an issue.
