The savings books, where every troop, sports teams or other school group buys and sells "entertainment books".
How many of the residual books do you end up buying?

I have no idea what you're talking about. Around here it's magazines and popcorn. They also frequently sell a discount card good at many local merchants that might be what you're referring to.
As far as how many I end up buying, I usually just buy the minimum amount my kid is required to sell. I'd rather do that than go door to door or bug my friends. Then I don't have to feel guilty when I don't buy their stuff. Last edited by SteelBlue; 10-29-2007 at 07:19 PM. |

I bought one of those books four years ago, thinking I would be able to take my wife out twice as often. What I found though, is many of the restaurants were no longer in business. On one particular evening we wanted to try a new place that neither of us had heard of before. It took four stops before finding one that was still there.

Those books suck. Not only do you have to pay $20 for a crappy coupon book, but then you'd have to actually use the coupon at a place like TGIFridays for a free appetizer. Bad deal all around.
