You are not far off -though Chinese sculpture is more of a culprit.

Influence I should say. The illustration is the result of a series of drawing from inspiration exercises I assign to my animation students ... my goal is to do the exercises along with them, to show exactly how I go about the creative process. You are the first person that has seen it and picked up on the obviouse influence.
