JohnnyLingo has a little shameless behaviour in the past
Default Where there are Mexicans, there is Mexico!

President Calderon of Mexico slams American for enforcing its own immigration laws and demands amnesty for the 6 million Mexicans in America.

Basically he says the U.S. border should not exist.

Holy cow.

His country doesn't want to pay for the expatriates. I can see his point.

There are also millions and millions of US dollars being pumped into the Mexican economy by the illegals who send money to their homes.

I wonder if he's as compassionate about the Guatemalans who want to sneak into Mexico for a better life?

I remember when I served there 10 years ago, the Mexicans had the feelings of superiority towards the Guatemalans that they complain about seeing in the US. I also saw generally a strong dislike towards blacks.

My brother-in-law served in Guatemala and told me about a family he taught who had a son who was shot and killed by the Mexican military as he tried to cross the border illegally so he could find a job to support his family.

A very sad commentary on what it must be like in Guatemala and quite the hypocrisy on the part of Mexico.

Interestingly enough (or uninterestingly enough), I served in Guatemala 9 years ago, and they had a sense of superiority over the Hondurans, Salvadorians, and Nicaraguans.

Aha... So it's a function of latitude. No wonder those hosers up North can be so uppity.

Mexicans tend to look down on all other Latin Americans. At least that's my feeling. I'm talking in generalities as a culture here, and not individuals.
