What is the likelihood tha McKay Jacobsen starts?
I think he is the most talented WR on the squad. He has been here long enough to know the offense somewhat. I would think that if he plays often enough he should be better than Matt Allen by the 3rd or 4th game.
I like McKay and Reed on the ends, backed up by Collie and Allen. Perhaps some Matt Smith.

If he is your best receiver, I would be scared to death for your WRs. He may be talented, but it is incredibly difficult for a WR to make a impact as a freshman. Collie is the exception not the rule. If he is your best, you better be prepared to become a running team.

I think in terms of raw ability Mckay is the most talented, he does need some experience, but the future with him, Reed, Collie, Spencer Hofoka, Luke Ashworth, JJ Diluigi, Ryan Kessman and Marcus Matthews looks as bright as its been in a long time.

In my mind, the only question mark at all on Offense is the OL ... and even that should be okay. D is the concern.

OL is not the issue for BYU....
I believe that the 2nd most likely OL to have a long career in the NFL currently playing for BYU is Travis Bright, and he is not presently a starter. We shall see how things play out for him this year, but if he recovers fully from his broken ankle and reaches his potential he will be a stud. On the other hand, Ray Feinga was a very highly recruited athlete and he certainly did not play like a fool last year as a freshman. Perhaps Ray is just playing better and Travis cannot yet break into the starting rotation. All things considered, I expect some OL injuries this year, last year BYU experienced very few.
I genuinely believe that the OL in 2008 very well may be the best ever at BYU. Travis Bright, Dallas Reynolds, Tom Sorenson, Levi Mack, Ray Feinga, RJ Willing, Terrance Brown, Austin Reynolds, Jason Speredon, Ray Oswald and perhaps Nick Alleto. OL has not looked this good, deep and set for the future for a very long time, if ever. If Young Ben Olson develops into all he wants to be, 2008 will be the year he will wish he was with BYU. If Max Hall does not, 2008 might be the year we all wish that as well. The OL with upperclass Austin Collie and Michael Reed. Throw in underclassmen Duluigi, Kessman, Ashworth and Spencer Hafoka. The tight ends will be dominating in So'oto, George and Pitta. The crowning addition will be this winter when Steve Sarkisian sits Stanley Havili down and says "Brother Stan, why do you want to be the 4th best RB at USC and the 5th best RB in the Pac-10? Go back to BYU and get the reps neccesary to develop you for the NFL, the Cougs could use your depth in '08, behind Doak Walker Candidate Fui Vakapuna, and then you will be the star for '09-'10." I hope the defense is fixed by 2008.
