Default Concerning writing

I would happily post some writing samples for purposes of criticism but don't want it floating out here on a public forum ...

Could we lock up a new catagory and get one of you lawer types to craft an agreement whereby our work could legally be protected so that we may, in a sense, publish

No sense in aspiring to be a writer if the only person that reads your work is you spouse!

Default Why not boardmail, with copyright and date?

You could state, this dissemination is for the purposes of receiving editorial review, and the work presented is the property of the author, regardless whether the author incorporates aspects of review provided.

Hey it's off the top of my head.

Don't really need any lawyerly intervention to accomplish this (no offense to the lawyers, natch). You own the copyright whether you post it publicly or not. The problem is that if it's posted publicly, most markets will consider that Publication and, since they're only interested in buying first-time publishing rights, won't consider the piece. OTOH, if it's posted in a private forum for the purposes of "workshopping", no reasonable publisher's gonna have a problem with it.

I'm only talking about snipits here and not an entire work ... if I want to read your work, get it published and I will buy the book

The other day, I emailed Outlier a short story I had written, and he gave me some great criticism of it. Extremely helpful. I bet there's something we can set up here - maybe some sort of writer's group - for that sort of thing.

Because I am a genius, we can set up a category that has limited membership and is only accessible to those members. I.e. a selection of persons who are already members here.

And if you are truly paranoid you could always post in this private forum, then later delete your post.
