Default are we being women-unfriendly on this site?

I'm curious as to what the women of the site think.

It's easy for guys to cross the line, joking around.

We need some feedback.

It has been testosterone-heavy around here this week. I think we noticed this phenomenon last year too, during the football off-season.

I've developed a pretty thick skin, but if a new woman was to join the board this week and read some of the posts, it might scare her off.

It's hard to get upset at Goat, though. He sure has a way with words

If Requiem really is a woman, then this site has been unfriendly to her.

Requiem is not a woman and he is laughing his arse off by stumping us to a small degree.

Real women get treated relatively well, even though Goat went off on BDB, but that's just Goat being Goat. I'm just not a big fan of imposters.

And BDB does represent a segment of LDS women, who are turned off by guys being guys. A number of women do not enjoy the locker room atmosphere that prevails here sometimes. Being a guy, I sometimes need the locker room just to blow off steam.

It's a delicate balance to strike, which we probably haven't hit just yet.

I'm not sure if I'm supposed to say anything or if I am what I'm supposed to say. (Creek says young(ish) women should be seen and not heard, and at his age I don't wish to upset him.)

The site seems pretty sinusoidal to me. It cycles between polysyllabic pseudo-philosophy, pissing contests between two or three REALLY persistent posters, and forays into some sort of lockerroom treehouse thing. And of course the sports talk is always there in the background.

I wouldn't say any of that is necessarily unfriendly to women, although it's going to affect which type of girl will show up and stick around. (Although I personally thought couple of the shots taken yesterday more than crossed the line, but I don't know the history there.)

Bottom line: It's like Farrah said, women with a thicker skin will probably stick around. Others will find somewhere they're more comfortable.
