Yes, shocking that someone blames Bush for something bad that happened.

I'm actually rather numb to it by now.

I know. That Scot McLellan is such a hardcore feminazi leftist. He will not rest until the republican party is destroyed and he has devoted his life to the same. Besides, he was never in any position to know.

Of course, he might sell a few extra books this way, too.

Aside from the obvious negative implications of a President potentially misleading the public on purpose (which I would agree needs to be explained), can someone tell me why this is a big deal?

We know who the leaker was now (Richard Armitage). We know it wasn't a politically-motivated leak. This just seems like a continued attempt to make the decade's biggest non-story live a little bit longer. I am surprised it comes from McClellan.

Nope.

Bush sucks on immigration and I'm not happy with how he's handled Iraq since the initial invasion.

Good heavens. Are you kidding me? A president deliberately lying to the public should always be a big deal. Bush was elected largely as a backlash to Clinton's finger-wagging lies to the public. He was supposed to represent integrity. Hell, that's why I voted for him in round one.

You're too trusting. I expect all sides to lie to me. It's just a matter of which lie I prefer to live with.

Um, I think I acknowledged that in my first paragraph. Maybe you didn't read very carefully.

I'm talking about as it concerns the Plame issue.

Yes, but that's just the point. Assuming McClellan is telling the truth (and there seems to be no reason to doubt him) the lying by the president is the big deal. I am surprised that you would attempt to brush it off like that.

Then again, perhaps his presidency is so far down the toilet at this point that folks will just shrug their shoulders and move on.
