Default Jimmer to play on Nuggets summer league team

Maybe he'll end up playing against Collinsworth in the league.

Do you believe he'll be the Summer League MVP?

Jimmer kicked butt offensively in the game I watched yesterday. And did ok defensively. His coach said the issue is always going to be his defense, and not his offense. And that his defense has improved (coaches always say that about Jimmer, that his defense is improving).

Collinsworth on the other hand looked awful. Only watched the first half. Poor handle, no ability to direct the offense, turning the ball over. He looked like he didn't belong on the floor.

Does Jimmer not have the desire to be adequate on defense? It seems the league has seen guys with his mediocre athletic skills still play adequate defense. Jeff Hornecek played a lot of years and certainly had no special skills.

Jimmer is especially bad on defense due to his
1) small size
2) limited athleticism
3) poor instincts
4) poor foot speed (guys just blow past him)

He really is that bad on defense.

How did Hornacek survive all those years?

At the very end, Hornacek's knees were shot. But I think it's very safe to say that he was still a much better defender than Jimmer.

Hornie is a better defensive rebounder and has more steals per 36 minutes or 100 possessions compared to Jimmer. That's a couple of metrics.

Hornie wasn't a standout by any measure in terms of defensive stats.

Looks like KC had a better game yesterday, but only played limited minutes 12.

Had 4 points, no turnovers (had 4 in previous game). 3 rebounds, 1 assist.

Justin Anderson, the star for the Mavs team, stunk it up shooting 4 of 16.

Jimmer had 18 points on 7 of 17 shooting. 3/6 from 3.
