Default DC Fireside

Fireside was star-studded. I came late; fortunately, they stacked the best speakers at the end (Ty, Ken Niumatalolo, Kalani).

After the talks, they agreed to a meet-and-greet.

There was a line to see Taysom, but only a short wait to see Bronson. Of course, I was more interested in Bronson. I asked Bronson if he was planning on going into analytics when his career was over. He said he already did it for the team! I asked him what methods did they use. He said probability, and the way he described the project, it was probably the project spearheaded by Zach Knowlton (see BYUtv interview earlier).

He asked me if I was into analytics, and I told him I have a master's degree in applied math.

So I got to meet Ty, Kalani, and Ken; Damuni and Ofenhangaue had lava-lavas with the BYU logo.

I asked Ken, "If you had gotten the BYU, would they have let you run the triple option?" He said they never got that far.

I think I asked him the wrong question. Should have been, "If you were the coach at BYU, would you keep running the triple option or change into a scheme that's a more traditional fit for BYU?"

I read one report from CB. Looks like the fireside was well-received.
