Default What's with all of the advertising for student loans?

I've seen commercials from two different companies offering student loans that can be deferred a maximum of 5 years. Nothing is mentioned about the rate or the length of the repayment period. The entire focus is on what kind of cool stuff you can buy with your up to 40,000 bucks. I get the feeling that these are kind of "sub-prime" student loans. Anyone know where this sudden blitz is coming from?
