Default Supreme Court Rules in Favor of Gun Ownership

As one who has guns, I am glad.

A couple of things:

The court basically said you have a right to gun ownership, although it can be infringed.

Also, I was shocked it only was a 5-4 decision. I knew the hard-core liberty-hating stalinists like Ginsberg and Souter would be holdouts, but I figured it would be a 6-3 or 7-2 vote. It's so obvious gun ownership is an individual right, even honest anti-gun liberals concede that point. Kind of scary in a way and reinforces my belief that the SCOTUS has waaaay too much power.

But hey, it was a victory of sorts, so I'll take what I can get.

the good thing about the 5-4 vote is that it is going to really motivate the gun base.

The idea that we can't have a dem in the white house like Obama just became hugely more salient.

Especially if a Dem like Obama is there long enough to oversee the seating of new justices.

Agreed. Despite 3D's assertions to the contrary, the right to keep and bear arms is constantly under assault.

Obama and many democrats are flat out LYING when they say they believe individuals have a right to firearm ownership.

If they believed it, they wouldn't want to restrict that right.

It really is that simple.

Obama would be the worst thing for gun ownership, and while it won't be the pivotal issue, it could be important in several southern states.
