I go from low 40s to low 200s. But usually if I'm hovering above 180, I fall back quickly. It seems for my age that 160s or low 170s is an efficient long term maximum and I can go all day at 150.

One day when it was 120, we were climbing and I noticed my heartrate hit 205 and thought, "I wonder if this is healthy."

I got tired of dealing with the heart rate monitor a few years back and so I quit wearing it. Now that I am fat but riding again I was nto sure I want to see exatcly what it is, but you guys have inspired me. My ride homw tonight will be sans monitor but I will wear it tomorrow and, it if it is not too embarassing, I will report.

I tried keeping the HR up a little last night. The unit freaked out for a couple of miles.

Still anxiously awaiting creeksters HR data from this mornings commute....

Of course, it is Friday, he probably won't roll into the office until at least 2:30 this afternoon.

I pulled out the monitor this am and both the receiver and sender had dead batteries. Plus the elastic strap was gone and my son said he thought it had been commandeered for some sort of costume last school year. Maybe next week.
