Tested it out tonight. Pretty happy with it. When I was getting home, that's when it started to get to be full on night. Lights were bright. In city with occasional streetlight, seems plenty bright to me. Haven't tried it yet on pitchblack country roads, but seems like it would be bright enough.

My cables were a little in the way, so have to fix that. They blocked a little light.

The lights jiggle on bumpy roads at high speeds, but what light is not going to?

I think this is worth a shot, and I have no current plans to get a brighter light.

That's a great strategy for getting out of giving rides home to half the young men. I'll have to try it.

Off topic a little bit. Are there any decent LED headlamps for bikes? How far away are we from getting these, so I don't have to replace my batteries once a week.

you want a helmet light, or a light on your bars?

Run time depends on the light and what kind of batteries. 4-6 hours run time is not uncommon for the top lights. But we are talking hundreds of dollars.

I bought a smart charger and am going to use rechargeable AA batteries.

Light on the bars. Your main source of forward light. My understanding is that LED is not a great option here, though I could be wrong.

The Dinotte 600L puts out 600 lumens. Plenty bright.

My flashlights are amazingly bright for just 2AA batteries in each.
