Not what I hear. You, goose, creek, q, Viking, and piney are five of the baddest mf I know on bikes.

I still worship at Viking's and Creekster's altars of cyclisme.

You and Mikey have broken five hours, I have not. Until I do, I'm not in your league.

Did I say that about the Death Ride? I know that I've said that every year about the Tour of the Unknown Coast (my wife reminds every year of the previous years statement), but I didn't think I was that bad about the DR.

Its actually a great ride, aside from the fact that you are climbing for 7-10 hours in a day. Beautiful scenery, great support, good roads, usually good weather.... I'm almost looking forward to it (almost).

Yes, you say that every time and last time you couldn't feel your feet for 6 weeks. Wait, did the feeling ever come back?

Default Death Ride

My 60-year old Dentist has done this ride the last 20 years and swears it's what keeps him going! I wish you the best! I come home for the summer and find that the state is on fire and the air looks like chunky soup.
A few of us are headed to the clearer end of the state this weekend for the Napa Valley inline marathon, much tamer than the Death Ride, but still a good excuse to push the limits.
No BYU shorts and bibs yet though... hopefully by the next event in August.

You're right. I went back and searched for my ride report from last year. My exact words were:

There's a snowballs chance in hell that I'll ever do it again, which my wife reminds me I said 2 years ago after my last Death Ride.
Its a good thing I have such a poor memory for these sorts of things. I would never do anything fun or challenging otherwise.

Well you did the Death Ride but avoided Lotoja, what does that say about Viking's and my intelligence?

Shall I remind you that you haven't done Lotoja yet. When you're done, your cycling IQ can then be measured by whether or not you commit to do it again in 2009 within 2 weeks of finishing.

Plus, I'm doing a marathon 6 weeks after Lotoja when my longest run to date is 13 miles, done 7 months ago. I'm going to die as it is with a full 4 months to prepare.
