Default Have you ever dunked a basketball?

And can you still do so? Have you ever done it in a game situation?

As for me:

No, No and No. It is one of the great shames in my life that at 6'2" I could do no more than grab the rim. Meanwhile guys like bluegoose can dunk at 5'10". I was reading an article about a guy who has a booming business training 30 somethings to dunk. They pay him $5,000 and he guarantees it within a few months.

Yes, no and yes.

I was blessed with a nice vertical leap. I never had it measured, but I could dunk with rather ease. I just don't have large enough hands to palm the ball for one handed dunks.

I dunked in a high school gym class pick up games a few times and did the same in pick up games in college until my knees no longer allowed it to happen.

I was a high school point guard, all 5'10" of me. I could dunk a tennis ball. I have not tried recently, but I would be impressed if I could touch just the net.

Yes.

No. I did grab rim tonight.

Yes. A few times. None in any real important games though.

No, no, and no. I'm 6' 1" and I've never touched the rim. I share your shame.

I could grab the rim as a freshman in high school.

Two footed jumper and small hands doomed me.

At my best I could one-step grab the rim. I also have gotten injured which prevented me from really giving it a go (knee tendonitis, sprained ankles).

I can grab the rim now, but don't have the hops I used to.

Not even close.

5'9" and poor jumping skills.

No, no and no.

I was lucky to touch the rim and I could do so up until I was forty. After than I lost explosion, if you can call a white man jumping explosion, now I'm relatively short with no jumping skills.

Or were you referring to an eight foot basket? If so, then yes, yes and yes.
