Default Why I don't skateboard off of 50 foot ramps:

Jake Brown. Anybody see this?

50 feet in the air, bruised lung, walks away.

Wow.

That was incredible. I'm glad he's okay.

I've never done anything remotely this dangerous. But last year or so, I was at inlaws going for waslk with everyone. had the old family skate board, and decded to go down the big hill to the house. I got going pretty fast and everything started shaking, and danger lights went off in my head, and I bailed. Luckily landing on my feet at a full run.

I don't know wht I was thinking.

That was a nasty fall. It would be cool if they could install some airbags in the floor. That way if a guy needs to bail in midair someone hits the airbag button before the dude his the floor.

How do they not immobilize this guy and send him in an ambulance???? They are very lucky he didn't have any kind of ligamentous injury in his spine which could easily have been unstable. In any other sport an injury that knocks you unconscious earns you a backboard, a neckbrace and an ambulance ride. This guy fell 50 feet! What does it take?

I was watching this last night and as soon as he started rolling down the windows I was screamed, "Holy shit!"

These guys have bigger balls then I will ever have. And probably smaller brains.

Same thing happened to me at 13. Only before I could jump, the board sent me flying. Luckily I walked away ok, albeit sans skin on my right forearm.

I thought that was queer too. I couldn't believe he wasn't given a brace and a stretcher.

The first time I dropped in on a half pipe I did it without a helmet. I got caught up on the far side of the ramp - on the railing. I fell backwards and landed on my head at the bottom of the transition. It knocked me unconscious. I never told my parents about it. I hope my kids aren't the same way.
