Default The US Open is coming to the Puget Sound

Chambers Bay, which just opened last year, is going to host the US Open and the US Am. That is a big deal. It will be only the third true muni to ever host the US Open and the first time a US Open has been played in the NW.

Anyone coming up for the BYU game in the fall should try to get a round in on this great, new public track.

That looks a lot like Bandon Dunes in Oregon. Lots of wind?

It is a lot like Bandon Dunes. The course is walking only - no cart paths. It also plays to lay of the land like Bandon. Several metric tons of sand were moved under it for drainage, so it will play well in the wet NW climate.

It's not as windy as Bandon. Yes, it's right on the water, but the Sound is not nearly as windy as being right on the Pacific.
